Our arbitration expertise combined with our in-depth knowledge of a variety of institutional rules, our strong ties with leading law firms all over the world and the team’s diverse language capabilities, allows us to represent our clients’ interests effectively in national and international high-stakes arbitration proceedings across a wide range of industry sectors from media and entertainment to pharmaceuticals and commodities, from banking and insurance to construction and sports. The NKF team is also retained to raise and substantiate the arbitration exception featured in Swiss law documents before the courts of other jurisdictions, to appeal arbitral awards in Switzerland and to assist in Swiss enforcement proceedings of awards made in other jurisdictions.

Members of NKF’s dispute resolution team are regularly appointed to serve as arbitrators on commercial and sports arbitration panels, providing our team with additional invaluable insight and expertise that we leverage for our clients’ benefit.

Experience:

  • Counsel to a global organisation in a Swiss Rules arbitration proceeding commenced by its contractual counterparty relating to sales representation services in the media industry
  • Counsel to an English client in ad-hoc arbitration proceedings brought against its French counterparty in Singapore involving complex choice of law questions
  • Counsel to Spanish parties in an ICC Arbitration dispute with a Turkish joint venture partner in relation to a failed hydro-electric plant project
  • Counsel to a German construction company in its dispute with a Swiss construction company and one of the world’s leading mining contractors relating to a project in Russia
  • Counsel to an Israeli listed entity in its ICC Arbitration dispute against one of the largest Turkish defense contractors centering around complex questions of export control
  • Counsel to a large Swiss bank in a Swiss Rules arbitration filed by another well-known Swiss bank concerning a dispute related to inter-bank agreements
  • Have won several appeals to the Swiss Federal Supreme Court in arbitration matters. Only less than ten percent of the appeals to the Swiss Federal Supreme Court are successful.
